2. Using at least 3 different drawing media, like colored pencils, chalk pastels and crayons, begin coloring your shapes.

If you are right handed, begin on the top left corner with any one of your selected media.

3. Try to change colors and drawing media every time you move from one shape to the other. For example, if you started with colored pencil, use crayon on the next shape.

Marco Casentini (b. 1961) is a contemporary Italian painter based in California.

The painting Beverly Hills Women is one example in which the artist’s heightened awareness of his surroundings produces an inimitable sequence of geometric layering and luminosity that extends beyond the confines of the canvas. His flat treatment of paint on the surface serves as the bond for these stratums of opaque, glossy and twinkling square finishes. Accompanied by vibrant colors, the overlapping geometries generate visual cadences throughout the work which beckons us to visually peel each form away to reveal the one beneath or reconfigure them as a whole. The artist offers us a playful and refreshing take on the ways that we see our external environment.

Surface Finish: The texture and sheen of the surface left after the use of one or more artistic media.
